• Homeowners / Renovators:
If you’re planning a new kitchen, laundry, wardrobe, or custom cabinetry, please email your inquiry through info@universalkitchens.co.nz with your measurements, inspiration photos, and any existing plans. You can also call us on 0800 470 471 to book a free consultation.

• Builders / Developers/Designers:
For multiple units, tender projects, or bulk cabinetry orders, we offer special pricing for our long-term partners. You’ll be amazed by our hassle-free and professional services. (References can be provided upon request) Please feel free to attach any architectural drawings or schedules to your email inquiry.

• Flat-Pack Orders (NZ-Wide):
If you’re looking for pricing for flat-pack cabinets or NZ-wide delivery, please email us your request and attach your plan if available. We’ll come back to you within 24 hours with options and pricing — or you can simply place your order online for faster processing. We accept credit card, Google Pay, Klarna and Afterpay payment options.

Q: What is a handle-free kitchen, and why is it special?

A: We are the only business in New Zealand offering handle-free kitchen cabinets in flat-pack form. Our cabinets are available in standard sizes, making them adaptable to different kitchen layouts and budgets. Featuring continuous profile channels, our flat-panel doors provide a sleek, modern aesthetic while also offering an added safety benefit for families with young children.

Q: What materials are used for your cabinets?

A:

  • Doors: Made from 19.5mm MDF boards with a durable acrylic white matt finish, offering excellent scratch and fingerprint resistance.

  • Alternative Finishes: Available in other colors/finishes using 18mm MDF boards.

  • Carcasses: Constructed from 16mm moisture- and scratch-resistant MFC (Melamine Faced Chipboard).

  • Edges: All panels feature seamless laser-edge clashing for a high-end finish.

Q: What warranty do you offer, and what does it cover?

A: Our products come with industry-leading warranties:

  • Cabinets & Doors: 10-year manufacturer’s warranty covering moisture or manufacturing defects.

  • Hardware:

    • Garis runners – 10-year warranty

    • Blum hinges & select handles – Lifetime warranty

Q: Do you ship nationwide or internationally?

A: Yes, we ship nationwide across New Zealand and can provide international shipping upon request.

  • To receive a shipping quote, simply email us with the items you’re interested in and your delivery location.

  • We will respond promptly with a cost estimate.

Q: What is the process and timeline for a bespoke kitchen?

A: Our custom kitchen process follows five key steps:

🔹 STEP 1 – Measurement (a few hours)
We take 2-3 measurements depending on the kitchen layout to prepare a layout plan and quotation. A second and third measurement may be required before finalizing production.

🔹 STEP 2 – Consultation (a few hours)
We review layout options, materials, colors, bench-tops, and handles to refine your ideal kitchen design.

🔹 STEP 3 – Design (within 1 week, typically under 2 days)
After a detailed consultation, we work closely with you to finalize your dream kitchen design within your budget.

🔹 STEP 4 – Production (2-4 weeks after deposit)
Once approved, production takes 2-4 weeks, depending on project milestones and factory workflow.

🔹 STEP 5 – Installation (1-2 days for cabinets, 7-10 days for benchtops)
Our skilled installers bring your kitchen to life, ensuring a professional and efficient installation.

Q: What is your return policy?

A: We do not offer refunds or returns for change of mind, including:

  • Changing personal circumstances

  • Finding a cheaper product elsewhere

To avoid any issues, we highly recommend consulting us before placing an order. We’re here to help!

Delivery Inspection:

  • Upon delivery, check all items within 48 hours against your purchase order to confirm everything is correct.

  • If your package is damaged on arrival, DO NOT SIGN OR ACCEPT DELIVERY.

Faulty or Incorrect Items:

  • If an item is damaged or incorrect due to no fault of the buyer, we will honor our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

  • Claims must be submitted within 14 days of delivery, with written notice (email/text) and proof of damage.
